“To be a person is to have a story to tell.”  Isak Denison

This workshop is based on the premise that there’s a seed for story in every moment we have felt strong emotion. Through specific exercises, you will mine for meaningful experience, narrow it down to a one-inch frame of space and time, tap into its essence and release it as story.

Dramatic principles and structure play an important role. So does your sensory and affective memory. You will be asked to follow rules to ensure that you explore, tell and listen in an atmosphere that is safe. You will be guided to offer and accept feedback in more than three ways. You will hear story at every step of the way. And in the end, you will render your story in less than one thousand and one words.
